Mellanox Introduces World’s First 25/50 Gb/s OCP Ethernet Adapters for Single and Multi-Host Technology

Contributes Multiple Specifications to OCP for 25, 50 & 100 Gb/s Speeds

SUNNYVALE, CA and YOKNEAM, ISRAEL – MARCH 7, 2016 – Mellanox® Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ: MLNX), a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end interconnect solutions for data center servers and storage systems, today unveiled ConnectX-4 Lx adapters, the world’s first 25 & 50Gb/s Ethernet single and multi-host adapters for Open Compute Project (OCP) at the OCP Summit. The ConnectX-4 Lx based adapters are the first dedicated single and multi-host solutions for OCP, enabling significant performance upgrades for 10/25 and 40/50 Gb/s Ethernet networks, without requiring overhauling existing data center cabling infrastructure. The contributions includes single and multi-host versions of both the ConnectX-4 & ConnectX-4 Lx adapters with 25, 50 & 100 Gb/s Ethernet technology.


With ConnectX-4 and ConnectX-4 Lx adapters, Mellanox is the only company to provide network adapters for multiple OCP server and storage Platforms including Yosemite, Leopard, and Rackspace Barreleye, an Open-Power based platform. Powered by Mellanox Multi-HostTM technology, ConnectX-4 Lx provides an innovative solution delivering flexibility and major cost savings for next generation Cloud, Web2 and Telco Data centers. Multi-Host technology disaggregates the network and enables building new scale-out heterogeneous compute and storage racks with direct connectivity from multiple hosts to a single network controller. Multi-Host technology is available today in the company’s line of ConnectX-4 and ConnectX-4 Lx adapters at speeds of 50 and 100 Gb/s.
