Mellanox ConnectX™ ExpressModule™ Adapters Accelerate Sun Microsystems' Sun Blade™ Modular Systems

SC07, RENO, NV – November 13, 2007Mellanox™ Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ: MLNX; TASE: MLNX), a leading supplier of semiconductor-based, server and storage interconnect products, today announced that its ConnectX 20Gb/s InfiniBand Host Channel Adapter (HCA), based on the PCI SIG ExpressModule specification, provides the leading-edge connectivity for the Sun Microsystems' Sun Blade™ 6000, 6048, and 8000 Modular Systems. This breakthrough modular architecture allows customers to deploy the industry's broadest range of applications on a single common modular design, including virtualization, database, web tier and high performance computing (HPC). Mellanox’s ConnectX InfiniBand adapters and the Sun Blade™ Modular Systems provide industry leading clustered computing platforms that will service the total blade server market which is estimated to grow to over 1 million units this year and estimated to grow by more than three-fold to over 3 million units in 2010.

Up to two industry-standard Mellanox ConnectX 20Gb/s InfiniBand PCI Express ExpressModules (EMs) can be dedicated to each server module. EMs are hot-plug capable according to the standard defined by the PCI SIG, and fully customer replaceable without opening either the chassis or removing the server module. Each of the two InfiniBand ports can supply power to support passive as well as active cables for an extended reach.

The Mellanox ConnectX IB ExpressModules have been tested with OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution version 1.2.5, and are available from Sun in the fourth quarter of 2007. Additional information on Sun Blade Modular Systems can be found at
